Sorry if these aren't very good. I tried.
( A Star Is Born... )
I got thrown off again today. Why? Because after 6 PM, there is a 30 minute limit on each treadmill and the client has the right to throw off anyone who goes over 30 minutes. It does NOT matter if there are other available treadmills or not. If the person wants to use his or her favorite and someone's using it, the person can throw the user off. Totally WTF moment.
That has to be one of the most pathetic and illogical rules I've ever heard. I said it right to the front desk and they couldn't explain the logic of this to me. I'm totally taking this up with the manager and have him explain to me. I just don't get it. I was in middle of a hill repeat workout!
Okay. So this is a silly question but I have to ask. How can I make drinking water more enjoyable?
I run 3x a week and bike almost everywhere these days. Plus I have a rather heavy labor job and KNOW I need to be drinking more water. Sadly on a good day I'll get down about 16 oz. Sometimes it's not even that much over the course of two days. I do drink coffee once or twice, and normally a glass of OJ a day, but that's honestly about all I ever drink.
So, anyone have any tips on how I can start drinking more water? I started carrying a gallon jug around with me everywhere which helped a bit, but it is still lasting me 3-4 days. Oi.
To recap-- I'm in training for the October Chicago Marathon, which will be my first marathon. Even before I began training for this event in April, I had a base of about 30-32 miles a week. I ran two half marathons in the spring, have put together two solid months of hill repeats, and have been adding a mile a week to my long weekend run. Although I have been injury-free (knock on wood) and extremely careful about adding total miles, my current training plan has me ready to run my first 20 miler in two weeks. Even if I lighten up my long runs every other weekend after that, I still end up doing at least 5 20+ mile long runs before Chicago. Does this sound like way too much if I continue to stay healthy and don't mentally burn out? (The rest of the week I am running about every other day, and am aiming for no more than 50 miles a week before I am ready to taper off in late September.)
Thanks for any comments!
It would be a lot of work for me to gather all the audio I can find from every single show, but also something I'm absolutely willing to do, because, well, damn if Adam doesn't just sound amazing. But I don't want to go through all that work if you guys don't want a post like that.
So we have two options.
1) Make a Tour Audio Post, compiling every piece of audio of Adam's from every show, that can be found.
2) Make a 'Tour' section on the Ultimate Audio Post, with only the best quality versions of his set, updating the links with better audio when they come along. This would mean there would be only one set of his songs, instead of every version from every show.

This made me wonder how old the records are in your country? Is there a track/road record that was set more than 10years ago and still standing?
Well, you know the drill. Mark is off somewhere in Massachusetts, or something, and he asked me to post the daily training thread. (And now he's sending me nagging text messages even though it's barely 9am.)
What sort of running/other training/assorted misdemeanors are you all up to today?
I ran 8.3 miles yesterday -- my longest run since I sprained my ankle, which is both uplifting and depressing -- so today's a climbing day. I haven't been climbing in a week (!) after going ten times last month (which I think is a record), and I feel like a climbing slacker.
In other news, I can't believe the long weekend is over. And I think I am extra tired because last night I dreamed about running a 5k. (Although in real life I do not actually race.) I'm going to blame this on the fact that I was reading Again to Carthage before bed -- and I'm not going to lie, you guys, I get why runners like John L. Parker, but I don't think he's a particularly good writer, and his casual misogyny just leaves me cold. Dude, it is not the seventies anymore, thank God. Let's get with the program, shall we?
Ahem! Moving swiftly along, how was everyone's long (or regular-length, for those outside the US -- sorry!) weekend? How did you celebrate Independence Day (or, again, not)? I went with my roommate and my boyfriend to watch the fireworks on the Mall; we showed up midday and had a picnic and hung out all afternoon and evening till the insanely over-the-top fireworks show at 9:00. Recession? DC knows naught thereof!
Anyway, tell me all about your weekend and your training and all, and forgive my America-centrism. As penance, instead of a picture of Dr. House, I will embed this video of Hugh Laurie singing a little song about America. (I thought about grabbing Mark's House icon so everyone would definitely know it was the dailies, but you know, I just feel more comfortable as an Ice Bat, so you all are just gonna have to figure it out.)

So the running music question is, what's a song that you didn't like at first, but ended up liking later?
Right now, I'm running about 15-18 miles a week. I also bike to work and school, so that's another 3-4 hours of moderate exercise. I'm a waitress, but I don't count that as exercise. The pool on campus is finally refilled, and I'll get to restart swimming tomorrow. I can't wait!
Averaged over the past two weeks, I eat 1,360 calories a day. That's 28.5g of fat, 210.5g of carbohydrates, and 83.6g of protein. I drink at least two gallons of water a day, but do it mostly by drinking when I'm thirsty rather than by continuous conscious effort.
I've been tracking what I eat everyday for months, and haven't been able to figure out any specific problems. The majority of the advice I'm finding doesn't seem to be written for active, healthy people--it usually suggests that I walk off the pounds and cut out that second latte, which is less than helpful. What do you all think I'm doing wrong? Do you have any suggestions?
Just in case it's relevant, I'm vegan. Also, because a drug I'm on puts me at risk for kidney stones, I'm not supposed to eat nuts or seeds (among other things), and I'm supposed to only eat beans in moderation.
He's now #12 and behind #11 by less than 1,100 votes. We've made huge strides these last few days, bringing him up this far (there was a time we were fighting for #19), so AWESOME JOB guys and gals!
HERE.

( I'll edit this post as i find more :D )
Blood on her lips dried years ago
with tears on her cheeks she buried it all
His familiar face brings it all back
With tears on her cheek she cant hide the pain
That scared little girl is nothing more than a scared woman
Building walls to hide it all within
With tears on her cheeks she runs to hide
She wouldn't deal with it the, she refuses to now
Finds relief the only way she knows how
With tears on her cheeks she watches the blood flow
She puts on a smile as the blood dries
With tears on her cheeks she buries it again
